Hello, OpenTune (the new one)

We are rebuilding OpenTune on Astro, TypeScript and a real MariaDB behind it. The site you’re reading has been served by Cloudflare Pages and a pile of vanilla JavaScript for a long time; it shipped, indexed fine, and got us this far.

What changes:

• A new design, ported from the prototype the team shared in May 2026.
• Mobile-first responsive layout, with one shared design system.
• Real database access at request time, replacing the embedded JSON in Cloudflare Edge Functions.
• TypeScript everywhere — backend, frontend, scripts.

What stays the same:

• All the radio stations you’ve been listening to (we still mirror Radio Browser).
• The same audio stream proxy. Your favourites keep playing.
• The same domain. Cloudflare still sits in front of us as CDN and protects the origin.

More posts coming as the migration progresses. If something is broken, the old site is still one DNS flip away.
